Stearns And Foster Sherrington Mattress
I don’t think the Stearns And Foster Sherrington mattress will appeal to everyone, but if your after a slightly firmer more rigid mattress then this could be right up your street. The mattress comes with a lovely plush pillow top which does soften things up slightly. The mattress is a neutral cream color. It also has handles on the sides but I am always wary of using these as they often seem to tear under the weight of the mattress. There are lots of little holes in the mattress — no that is not some defect but for ventilation purposes, it lets air and heat diffuse from the bed — if heat builds up in the mattress you will get a very uncomfortable night sleep so this is a good feature. There seems to be fairly good motion suppression, if you or your partner fidget in your sleep then will be less chance of being woken up by the mattress bouncing around.
If you go to a mattress shop and test beds out then remember these mattresses get LOTS of wear and tear and often feel softer than they should as a consequence, ideally when testing out mattresses in a show room they should still feel fairly new. I mention this because a number of people have commented that they try the Stearns And Foster mattress instore, but when they got it delivered it was quite a bit firmer than they remember. The mattress will need flipping every couple of months or so to help prevent sagging.
Overall this is a good mattress without any frills. It is very expensive though at over $2500 in cost so it’s the top bracket. With that in mind I would recommend only looking at this mattress if you want a firm mattress, from experience most people prefer a slightly softer mattress that moulds to the body, but not everybody is the same. There are other Stearns and Foster mattresses that can be had for cheaper without compromise on quality — to view the full range of these Steans Matresses Click Here. Here prices start from as little as $300, which is a bargain for this sort of build quality.
